HardlyRegistered is a play on Registered Nurse, indicating that this is a blog about a nursing student and his observations in the clinical care environment.
Anthony Scott, your author is pursuing a Master’s in Nursing at the University of San Francisco. The program is designed to provide a Masters level curriculum in addition to pre-licensure course material for individuals who have a Bacherlor’s degree in another field. See here for more information: http://www.usfca.edu/nursing/programs_of_study/msn_for_non_nurse_cnl.html. Prior to making this career change in 2009, Anthony has a double major Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, having studied both English literature and and Integrative Biology. For the past nine years Anthony has been working in the Bio-pharmaceutical industry in the Bay Area, first starting at lab jobs doing fermentation, and later moving back and forth between roles in both Quality Assurance and Manufacturing as conducting investigations for process issues and developing process improvements to prevent recurrence of those issues. This background is what led him to the Clinical Nurse Leader Masters role, a new position in nursing intended to identify and correct problems in the health-care field.
